launched in 2009, in 2016 book&look offers a number of innovations encompassing not only functionalities, materials and finishes, but also greater freedom of use. thus the basic square door 52 x 52 becomes universal and can be used wherever one wants in the range, whether in a current or a new finish.
an elegant modular range combining lacquer with solid wood. note the quality of finish as embodied by the dark walnut lip which serves as a handle for the doors. it responds perfectly to contemporary requirements of a modular system, offering solutions for hi-fi and storage, plus shelving and a sideboard.
the canaletto collection of glazed units is a small but very singular range. the upper section is completely glazed, both front and sides, with a ridged glass with a widely-spaced linear pattern, an alternation of dips like peaks and troughs. the glass of the doors is mounted flush with the smoked, brushed anodised aluminium frames, held in place by invisible glue beneath a bronze martingale.
numéro111 and michel then decided to develop the clyde range, taking as a starting point its essential characteristics – the brass-coated or black lacquered steel structure with its v-shaped supports and the way in which the tops are superposed. and so two new pieces were born: a bookcase and a multi-use low unit (low bookcase, low open sideboard, TV,...).
although it might be evocative of certain metal modular systems from the office world, dita clearly distances itself from these in a number of ways: its lacquered panels are in wood rather than sheet metal; its discreet profiled uprights with their sophisticated finish are perfectly placed, cast and not part of the structure; a matching handle which is light and beautifully designed; and its small, slim feet which continue the line of the structure in a very natural way.
et cetera is a vertically-constructed programme (assemblies of side panels, shelves, back panels and fronts). basically a range of shelving, it is further enriched by the additional functions of an occasional unit: storage (opaque or glass doors, shelves, drawers), audiovisual equipment and lighting.
a collection of furniture, perfect for any room in the house, comprising pieces for the living or dining room, bedroom or hallway, even tv/hi-fi units.
in the case of these new pieces, eric jourdan's new range of furniture, the work was based around a specific design language. it is drawing which guided the project, the pencil drew, shifted, proportioned the constituent elements of the piece, putting the tops, for example, in complete balance with the offset legs. light in appearance, asymmetrical, hollowed-out, these are the rounded forms beloved by eric jourdan.
from christian werner, designer of the everywhere range of storage, now comes selvans, which is characterised by the use of grooved dark-stained walnut veneer on its fronts and sides. the width of the channels is 4mm both at the top and in the hollow. the depth of the grooving is around 3.5mm.
